Job Title - Advanced Communication Support Worker

Salary - £30,000 - £31,000 per annum (pro rata)

Location - Lincolnshire

Contract Type - Permanent, Part-Time, 24 hours a week (Term-Time Only)

We are seeking a dedicated educational support specialist to facilitate accessible learning experiences for hearing-impaired students within a further education setting.

Role Responsibilities

  • Adapt instructional materials and facilitate effective classroom interactions using appropriate non-verbal and visual methods.

  • Collaborate closely with academic staff to break down complex tasks and monitor progress toward individual learning goals.

  • Promote learner independence by encouraging the effective use of specialist assistive technology and study strategies.

  • Maintain detailed and timely records of student development to comply with departmental auditing standards.

  • Assist with exam accommodations, serving as an official reader, scribe, or invigilator when required.

  • Guide student behavior constructively while maintaining a safe, supportive, and structured educational environment.

Essential Requirements

  • Level 3 qualification in British Sign Language alongside relevant supporting credentials in education support.

  • Demonstrated history of assisting individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing in an educational or community setting.

  • Clear understanding of the distinct educational obstacles faced by hearing-impaired individuals.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to convey instructions clearly and accurately.

  • Up-to-date knowledge of safeguarding standards, inclusive practices, and health and safety compliance.

  • Satisfactory Enhanced DBS clearance with barred list check. Desired but not essential: Familiarity with digital learning platforms and experience supporting a broader range of neurodivergent needs.
