BSL Teaching Assistant - Primary School

Are you a Teaching Assistant with British Sign Language (BSL) training looking for a rewarding role supporting a child on a 1:1 basis? I'm working with a primary school seeking a dedicated BSL Teaching Assistant to support a Year 5 pupil on a long-term basis, starting immediately.

This role involves providing consistent 1:1 support throughout the school day, helping the child access learning, communicate effectively, and fully engage in classroom activities.

Key Details:

  • Year Group: Year 5
  • Role: 1:1 support for a pupil requiring British Sign Language communication support
  • Hours: 8:30am - 3:30pm, Monday to Friday
  • Start Date: Immediate start
  • Contract: Long-term ongoing role

Requirements:

  • Training or qualification in British Sign Language (BSL) is essential
  • Previous experience working with children in a school or educational setting
  • Ability to build positive relationships and provide consistent support
  • Strong communication skills and a patient, nurturing approach
  • Experience supporting pupils with additional needs would be desirable
