Key Responsibilities:
As a Building Engineer, you'll play a key role in maintaining safe and efficient site operations through:

  • Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across the site
  • Completing statutory compliance checks and inspections
  • Maintaining fire safety equipment including extinguishers, hydrants and hoses
  • Testing emergency lighting, RCDs and smoke vents
  • Inspecting and maintaining fire doors
  • Completing water temperature testing and flushing in line with risk assessments
  • Supporting maintenance of security systems including CCTV and alarms
  • Recording completed works and remedial tasks using CAFM systems
  • Carrying out general building maintenance tasks as required

What we're looking for:
To be successful in this Building Engineer role, you should have:

  • Experience working in a multi-skilled maintenance or facilities environment
  • Knowledge of fire safety systems, emergency lighting or compliance testing
  • Experience with general building maintenance tasks
  • Understanding of water hygiene checks and temperature testing (desirable)
  • Experience working with maintenance management systems (CAFM)
  • Good IT skills and the ability to complete accurate records
  • The ability to pass prison security clearance checks
