Building Fabric Technician

Contract: Permanent, Full Time
Salary: £35,000 + Company Van (Diesel/Hybrid)
Hours: Monday - Friday | 8:00am - 5:00pm + Overtime
On-Call Rota: 1 in 5 Weeks (£150 Allowance)
Location: Newcastle upon Tyne & North East England

Our client, ISS, is recruiting for an experienced Building Fabric Technician to join a leading facilities management contract supporting high-profile commercial properties across Newcastle upon Tyne and the wider North East region.

This is an excellent opportunity for a multi-skilled Fabric Engineer or Building Maintenance Technician looking for a stable, long-term mobile role with excellent support, overtime opportunities, and a strong team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive fabric repairs
  • General building fabric maintenance, including doors, locks/hinges, flooring, and internal fixtures
  • Floor repairs, including fitting and replacing tiles and other surface materials
  • Minor plumbing repairs, such as fixing leaks, replacing taps, and basic pipework maintenance
  • Carrying out basic painting, patch repairs, and general upkeep of internal and external areas
  • Accurately completing job sheets, compliance documentation, and CAFM system updates

About You

  • Proven experience in a fabric or multi-skilled maintenance role
  • Background in facilities management or mobile maintenance environments
  • Experience carrying out reactive and planned maintenance (PPM)
  • Comfortable working across multiple sites and travelling across the North East (regional travel required)
  • Good understanding of completing maintenance paperwork and job reporting systems
  • Full UK Driver’s Licence (maximum 6 points, no drink-driving offences)
