Job Title: Building Fabric Technician (Carpenter / Plumber Multi-Trade)
Location: Horsham
Salary: £38,000 per annum
Contract: Full-Time, Permanent
About the Role:
Our client, a leading property maintenance and facilities management specialist across the South of England, is seeking a conscientious and enthusiastic Building Fabric Technician to join their dynamic team in Horsham. This permanent position is ideal for an operative with a core background in Carpentry or Plumbing who enjoys varied, multi-trade commercial maintenance work.
Key Responsibilities:
Carry out planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance tasks across commercial properties.
Diagnose and rectify repairs within your primary trade (Carpentry or Plumbing) and complete secondary trade tasks as needed.
Respond swiftly to emergency maintenance calls and work collaboratively with other engineering technicians.
Maintain accurate digital records, job updates, and photographic evidence of completed work via PDA/phone.
Support management with COSHH inventories, risk assessments, and maintain company vehicles and tools in clean, safe condition.
Participate in the emergency out-of-hours call-out rota.
Requirements:
NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Carpentry OR Plumbing (or equivalent qualification).
Demonstrated capability in at least 2 secondary trades to a high standard.
2-5 years of experience in a commercial property maintenance or FM environment.
Full UK Driving License (Clean preferred).
Ability to pass a standard DBS check.
CSCS card, PASMA, or IPAF certificates are desirable.
Key Benefits:
Salary: £38,000 per annum.
Holiday: 34 days annual leave (rising to 36 days with length of service, including bank holidays), with options to buy/sell up to 5 days.
