Hays are working in partnership with a well-respected engineering consultancy in Omagh to recruit a Building Services Engineer. This is an excellent opportunity to join a long-established practice, gaining exposure to a wide range of commercial, education, healthcare and public-sector projects.

Your new role
You'll join a supportive team of experienced engineers, working on the design and delivery of building services solutions across a diverse project portfolio. This role is ideal for someone looking to develop their technical expertise, gain hands-on project experience and progress their career within a professional building services environment.

  • Assisting with the design and coordination of mechanical and electrical building services systems.
  • Supporting senior engineers with calculations, drawings, specifications and technical documentation.
  • Producing and reviewing design information using software such as AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Attending project and design team meetings, contributing to multidisciplinary coordination.
  • Carrying out site surveys, inspections and condition assessments.
  • Assisting with project delivery from concept through to completion.
  • Ensuring designs comply with current regulations, industry standards and best practice.
  • Supporting sustainable and energy-efficient design solutions across a range of projects.

What you'll need to succeed

  • A degree in Building Services Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Previous experience within a building services consultancy environment is desirable, whether through employment or a placement year.
  • Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to learning and development.
  • Good problem-solving abilities and the ability to work effectively as part of a project team.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD and Revit would be advantageous.
  • A genuine interest in building services design and professional development.
  • Full UK/Irish Driving Licence.
