Location: Westfield Shopping Centre, Stratford, London
Salary: £45,000 - £47,500
Contract Type: Permanent
Shift Pattern: Rotating day and night shifts
Our client, a leading provider of facilities services in the UK, are looking for a Building Services Engineer to join the team at Westfield Shopping Centre, one of Europe's largest retail destinations. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a dynamic and technically challenging environment, supporting the safe and efficient operation of a major commercial site.
We are seeking a proactive and technically skilled engineer with experience in commercial facilities management or building services environments. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering both planned and reactive maintenance activities while ensuring the highest standards of compliance, safety and service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across electrical and mechanical systems.
- Diagnose and rectify faults on building services equipment to minimise downtime.
- Inspect, test and maintain electrical assets including lighting, power and distribution systems.
- Service and maintain mechanical plant including HVAC systems, pumps, air handling units, boilers and chillers.
- Complete maintenance records, reports and compliance documentation accurately and on time.
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with health and safety regulations and company procedures.
- Liaise effectively with colleagues, contractors and site stakeholders to support service delivery.
- Identify opportunities to improve system performance, reliability and energy efficiency.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Previous experience working within commercial FM, building services or a similar environment.
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
- Experience carrying out both planned and reactive maintenance.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a wider engineering team.
- A good understanding of health, safety and compliance requirements.
Qualifications
Essential or desirable qualifications include:
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
- NVQ or City & Guilds qualification in Electrical Installation or a related discipline.
- Mechanical engineering, heating and ventilation, or building services qualifications are advantageous.
- IOSH, IPAF or PASMA certifications would be beneficial.
