Mechanical Building Services Engineer – Bristol

We're working with one of the UK's leading construction businesses, delivering some of the country's most prestigious commercial, healthcare, education and public sector projects. Due to continued growth, they're looking to appoint an experienced Mechanical Building Services Engineer to join their regional team based in Bristol.

The Role

As a Mechanical Building Services Engineer, you'll play a key role throughout the project lifecycle, from pre-construction through to delivery, ensuring mechanical building services are designed, coordinated and installed to the highest standards.

Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting tender and pre-construction activities, reviewing consultant designs and specifications.
  • Carrying out buildability reviews and providing value engineering solutions.
  • Coordinating design teams and chairing technical design workshops.
  • Managing technical queries (RFIs) and ensuring design compliance.
  • Reviewing subcontractor tenders and assessing technical submissions.
  • Coordinating mechanical plant, equipment and specialist subcontractors.
  • Managing installation drawings and ensuring projects remain on programme.
  • Undertaking site inspections and working closely with construction teams.
  • Supporting commissioning and ensuring high-quality project delivery.

About You

We're looking for someone who has:

  • Experience within Mechanical Building Services on construction projects.
  • A Mechanical Engineering degree (or equivalent qualification).
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC, plant, mechanical systems and design coordination.
  • Experience working with consultants, subcontractors and project delivery teams.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • The ability to manage multiple stakeholders and work both independently and collaboratively.
