Our client, a leading provider of facilities services in the UK, is seeking a Building Services Manager to deliver high-quality building services in line with client and contract requirements, ensuring operational excellence across all maintenance activities.

This is a key leadership role focused on driving day-to-day service delivery while maintaining strong performance standards, compliance, and a culture of continuous improvement. The position requires a balance of technical expertise, commercial awareness, and relationship management to ensure services are delivered efficiently and effectively.

The successful candidate will act as the main point of contact for the client, building trusted stakeholder relationships while overseeing maintenance operations, contractor performance, and financial outcomes. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring that all services are compliant, client-focused, and aligned with contract objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality building services in line with client and contract requirements
  • Act as the main point of contact for the client, developing and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships
  • Lead day-to-day maintenance operations, including planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive works
  • Manage contractors, permits, and ensure safe systems of work are in place and followed
  • Monitor service performance, resolve operational issues, and drive continuous improvement initiatives
  • Support financial performance, including budget management, cost control, and delivery of small works
  • Ensure full compliance with HSEQ standards and company procedures
  • Oversee accurate documentation, reporting, and maintenance of asset and service records

Professional and Personal Competencies / Qualifications

  • Background in Facilities Engineering or a Facilities Manager with strong Hard FM experience
  • Proven experience in FM within a similar environment
  • Demonstrable experience managing maintenance operations, contractors, and service delivery
  • Good working knowledge of health and safety regulations and permit-to-work systems
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Commitment to high standards of service delivery and continuous improvement
