Building Surveying Manager in Ipswich, Suffolk

We are looking for an experienced Building Surveying Manager to lead a professional surveying team and oversee the delivery of housing maintenance, planned maintenance and major capital improvement programmes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and develop a team of surveying professionals and technical officers.

• Lead high-value and complex building projects from feasibility through to completion.

• Oversee maintenance, repairs, capital improvement and refurbishment programmes.

• Manage budgets, procurement, contracts, quality, health & safety and compliance.

• Prepare specifications, drawings, estimates and contract documentation.

• Liaise with senior management, contractors, customers and other stakeholders.

• Lead service improvements, resolve complex complaints and contractor disputes.

• Provide professional advice and contribute to housing policies and strategies.

Key Requirements:

• Building-related degree/professional qualification with significant post-qualification experience.

• Strong building surveying, project management and contract management experience.

• Experience managing staff and working with contractors and stakeholders.

• Knowledge of building, health & safety and relevant regulatory requirements.

• IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent; professional membership desirable.

• Strong communication, negotiation, organisational and problem-solving skills.
