The Opportunity

A long-established, multi-office consultancy is looking for a Senior Building Surveyor to join its Central London team. Candidates operating at Associate level will also be considered.

The workload is focused on public sector clients, particularly social housing, education and local authorities. You’ll take responsibility for a varied mix of refurbishment projects and professional instructions, with an established pipeline of work and experienced colleagues behind you.

This will suit someone who enjoys running their own schemes, working directly with clients and maintaining a balance between technical surveying and project delivery.

The Role

Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing refurbishment and improvement projects from initial brief through to completion

• Undertaking condition surveys, defect investigations and preparing technical advice

• Producing specifications and tender documentation

• Delivering contract administration and monitoring works on site

• Managing project programmes, quality and client expectations

• Advising housing, education and local authority clients directly

• Supporting and mentoring junior surveyors

The scope of the role will reflect your experience, with greater responsibility available for an Associate-level appointment.

Candidate Profile

• MRICS or MCIOB preferred

• Strong building surveying experience across project and professional work

• Public sector experience, particularly social housing or education, would be valuable

• Confidence managing projects and client relationships independently

• Sound technical knowledge and clear report-writing skills

• An organised, practical approach to delivering several instructions
