Building Surveyor

Working across a diverse range of projects, you will provide professional building surveying services from initial inspection through to project completion, delivering practical, high-quality solutions for a varied client portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and submit planning and building regulations applications
- Produce specifications for tender, carry out tender analysis, and issue reports
- Support senior staff in Party Wall matters (as adjoining owner’s surveyor, building owner’s surveyor, or agreed surveyor)
- Manage projects, including stock condition surveys and EPCs
- Assist with contract administration duties under JCT and other contract forms
- Undertake site inspections, surveys, and defect diagnosis
- Carry out detailed site investigations (including opening-up and testing)
- Produce accurate, high-quality reports (condition, defect, feasibility) with recommendations
- Monitor project progress and attend/chair meetings with clients and stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety policies and procedure
Candidate Requirements
- Degree qualified in Building Surveying or a related construction discipline.
- Chartered (MRICS) or actively progressing towards Chartership.
- Previous experience within a consultancy environment.
- Sound technical knowledge of building construction, pathology and defect diagnosis.
- Experience producing specifications, schedules of work and technical reports.
- Good understanding of Planning legislation and Building Regulations.
- Experience administering building contracts, particularly JCT contracts.
- Strong project management and organisational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build effective client relationships.
- Experience of Party Wall matters would be advantageous.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.

Salary - £40,000 to £50,00 (ultimately always up for negotiation depending on experience and value an individual can bring)
