About the Role
Green Scout is supporting an innovative renewable energy company at the forefront of floating offshore wind technology in the appointment of a Business Development Analyst.
This is an opportunity to join a growing organisation working to make deep-water floating offshore wind more cost-effective and easier to deploy, with projects and commercial activity spanning international markets.
The successful candidate will join a small, fast-moving Business Development team and play a hands-on role across market intelligence, grant funding, commercial development, partner engagement, investor materials and strategic business planning.
You will work closely with senior stakeholders, helping assess new opportunities, prepare commercial decisions and translate complex information into clear, actionable outputs.
This role would suit an ambitious, highly organised individual who is comfortable taking ownership, working across multiple priorities and operating effectively in an evolving environment.
Key Responsibilities
Market Intelligence
- Build and maintain a clear view of the floating offshore wind market, including developers, projects, competitors, platform concepts, auctions, tenders and policy changes.
- Conduct market and competitor research and translate findings into concise commercial briefs.
- Provide intelligence that supports business development and strategic decision-making.
Fundraising & Grant Support
- Identify public funding opportunities aligned with commercial and strategic priorities.
- Lead grant funding initiatives and applications from initial screening through to submission.
- Assess funding opportunities, coordinate partner input, prepare applications and manage deadlines.
- Ensure funding activity supports wider business development objectives.
Commercial Support
- Support the management and development of the commercial pipeline.
- Maintain accurate CRM information and opportunity records.
- Prepare materials for developer, partner and stakeholder meetings.
- Support trade show and conference preparation.
- Track actions, next steps and opportunities through to completion.
Commercial Materials & Presentations
- Maintain and develop company presentations, customer decks, investor materials, conference content and trade show materials.
- Ensure all commercial materials remain accurate, current and commercially relevant.
- Support the preparation of high-quality materials for customers, partners, investors and funding bodies.
Cost & Business Analysis
- Contribute to cost modelling, LCOE analysis and wider business model development.
- Gather and assess assumptions and data inputs.
- Test data quality and produce clear analytical outputs.
- Translate technical, commercial and market information into meaningful business insight.
Project Support
- Contribute to key renewable energy projects where required.
- Support stakeholder management, supply-chain follow-up, permitting and project documentation.
- Coordinate activities across technical, commercial and external stakeholders.
Business Operations
- Support the organisation and development of the Business Development function.
- Maintain document structures and version control.
- Track NDA follow-up and other commercial processes.
- Help implement processes that allow the team to operate efficiently as the business grows.
Requirements & Attributes
Commercial & Technical Understanding
- Ability to work across both commercial and technical topics.
- Comfortable asking insightful questions and translating technical information into effective commercial material.

- Strong desk research and information-gathering capabilities.
- Ability to monitor markets, policies, grants, tenders, competitors and developer activity.

- Comfortable working with Excel, assumptions, cost inputs, simple financial logic and structured trackers.
- Able to identify questionable data, challenge inputs and present conclusions clearly.
Communication
- Excellent professional written and spoken English.
- An additional language at C1 level would be advantageous.
- Able to communicate effectively with customers, partners, senior management, technical teams and public funding bodies.

- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage deadlines.
- Disciplined approach to document control, meeting notes, follow-up and version management.
- Able to remain organised when priorities change quickly.

Energy Transition

- Knowledge of the offshore wind industry is preferred.
Qualifications & Experience
- 2–4 years' professional experience in business development, grants, market research, project support, consulting, renewables or a related discipline.
- Engineering degree preferred, although candidates with degrees in business, environmental studies, communications or related disciplines will also be considered.
- Knowledge of the offshore wind industry is advantageous.
- Fluent professional English.
- Additional language at C1 level preferred.
- Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills.
- Experience with Salesforce or another CRM system would be advantageous.
