Business Development Executive: Outbound Sales (AI / SaaS)

Location: Shrewsbury, Shropshire (office-based, Mon-Fri)
Salary: £25,000 - £35,000 basic + uncapped commission + annual bonus
OTE: £50,000 - £60,000 realistically achievable
Type: Permanent, full time

The opportunity

A fast-growing, British-owned AI technology company is looking for an outbound Business Development Executive to sit at the front of its commercial team. Its product is a 3D digital human that holds natural conversations with customers 24/7 across web, phone, and face to face. It is already live in retail, education, charities, hospitality and automotive, and demand is growing quickly.

This is a phone-first role. You will not be starting from scratch: a researched target account database is already in place, with organisations prioritised and decision makers identified. Your job is to turn that into conversations and meetings. The team is small and being built deliberately, so you will work directly with the Chief Revenue Officer and have a real say in how the business approaches its markets.

What you'll be doing

• Generating new business through outbound calls, email, and LinkedIn
• Researching target organisations and reaching the right decision makers
• Introducing the company and its product clearly and credibly to senior stakeholders
• Qualifying opportunities properly and booking meetings.
• Following up on marketing campaigns, events, and inbound enquiries
• Keeping your activity and pipeline accurate in the CRM
• Working to agreed activity and revenue targets

What we're looking for

• 2-years’ experience in outbound lead generation, inside sales or business development
• Genuine confidence on the phone with senior decision makers, including cold calls.
• The ability to work autonomously, manage your own diary and hit the ground running.
• Discipline with follow-up and CRM hygiene.
• Clear written English for email and LinkedIn outreach

Desirable

• Experience selling software, SaaS, AI, or other technology.
• Experience selling into retail, education, charities, hospitality, or automotive.

• £25,000 - £35,000 basic, depending on experience
