Location: Greater Dublin Area
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am–5:30pm, with a one-hour unpaid break
Reports to: SME Sales Manager
The Role
We are looking for a commercially driven Business Development Executive to grow our SME customer base across the Greater Dublin Area.
You will identify new business opportunities, build relationships with prospective customers and develop waste-management solutions tailored to their operational needs. This is a hands-on sales role involving prospecting, site visits, proposals, contract negotiation and responsibility for converting opportunities into profitable new business.
What You’ll Be Doing
As Business Development Executive, you will:
- Identify and develop new business opportunities across the SME market.
- Build a strong pipeline through market research, networking, referrals and targeted cold outreach.
- Engage businesses across sectors including hospitality, retail, manufacturing and commercial services.
- Conduct customer site visits to understand waste volumes, service requirements and operational challenges.
- Develop tailored waste, recycling and sustainability solutions for prospective customers.
- Prepare and deliver compelling presentations, proposals and quotations.
- Negotiate pricing, contracts and service-level agreements while protecting commercial margins.
- Manage opportunities from initial contact through to signed contract and service implementation.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer interactions, opportunities and forecasts within the CRM system.
- Work closely with operational teams to ensure proposed services are practical and deliverable.
- Collaborate with Marketing on campaigns and materials aimed at attracting SME customers.
- Monitor market activity, competitor offerings and changes within the waste-management sector.
- Provide prospective customers with clear guidance on recycling, waste reduction and environmental compliance.
- Review sales performance against targets and provide regular pipeline and forecast reports to management.
- Support contract reviews and renewals where required, helping to retain and grow customer relationships.
- Represent Panda positively at customer meetings, networking opportunities and industry events.
The successful Business Development Executive will have:
- Previous experience in business development, field sales or B2B sales.
- A strong track record of generating leads and converting opportunities into new business.
- Confidence prospecting through telephone, email, networking and face-to-face engagement.
- Strong commercial awareness and the ability to negotiate profitable agreements.
- The ability to understand customer needs and translate them into practical solutions.
- Excellent communication, presentation and relationship-building skills.
- A proactive, self-motivated approach and the ability to manage your own territory and pipeline.
- Strong organisational skills with accurate CRM and sales forecasting discipline.
- The ability to work collaboratively with Sales, Marketing, Operations and Customer Service teams.
- Experience within waste management, environmental services, logistics or a related sector would be advantageous.
- A full, valid driving licence and the flexibility to travel throughout the Greater Dublin Area.
