About the opportunity:
We are currently recruiting for a Business Development Executive to join a growing and highly regarded organisation within the learning and development sector.
This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially minded and proactive sales professional to play a key role in driving new business growth. Working within a supportive and collaborative commercial team, you will be responsible for identifying, developing and converting new business opportunities.
This role would suit a driven individual who enjoys generating new opportunities, engaging with decision-makers, and managing the sales process from initial contact through to successful close.
In particular, you will:
- Generate new business opportunities through cold calling, networking, events, LinkedIn and proactive outreach activities.
- Build and maintain a strong pipeline of prospective clients.
- Manage the full sales cycle from lead generation through to closing new business opportunities.
- Conduct exploratory sales meetings and identify client needs.
- Prepare and deliver presentations, proposals and solution demonstrations.
- Develop strong relationships with prospective and existing clients.
- Coordinate the delivery of solutions and programmes for new clients.
- Maintain accurate sales data and nurture opportunities for future development.
- Attend networking events and industry conferences to generate new contacts and opportunities.
- Provide regular market and client feedback to support business growth strategies.
Who we are looking for:
- Previous experience within a B2b business development, sales or commercial role.
- Strong commercial awareness and a passion for developing new business opportunities.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Confident presenting solutions and engaging with stakeholders at all levels.
- Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent time management skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of learning and development, organisational psychology or psychometric solutions would be advantageous but is not essential.
- Self-motivated, positive and driven, with a genuine desire to succeed.
In return we are offering:
- Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 per annum plus commission.
- Holiday: 33 days (including bank holidays).
- Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 am - 5:30 pm
