Our client, a leading provider of facilities services in the UK, is seeking a Business Development Lead to own the end-to-end sales and bid process across the Office & Production sectors, from opportunity identification through to contract award and handover.

Job Overview

This role plays a critical part in driving new business, organic growth and customer retention across the Office & Production sectors. The postholder will work closely with the Divisional Director and Sector Commercial Director to support the delivery of sector growth objectives and top-line sales targets.

The Business Development Lead will contribute to the development and execution of sector sales strategies, define priority markets and targets, and lead cross-functional teams to develop competitive, high-quality commercial proposals. A strong focus on pipeline management, forecasting accuracy and disciplined CRM activity is essential to success in this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support delivery of the top-line sales target across the Office & Production sectors
  • Support the development and execution of sales strategies aligned to country and sector commercial strategies
  • Contribute to the definition of priority markets, geographies and target customers in collaboration with the Sector Commercial team
  • Own the end-to-end sales process, including opportunity identification, bidding, contract close and bid-to-operations handover for assigned opportunities
  • Drive new business acquisition, organic growth and customer retention across the sector portfolio
  • Lead and coordinate cross-functional bid teams to develop and submit competitive commercial proposals
  • Ensure commercial processes, tools and CRM activity are applied consistently and effectively
  • Contribute to strategic sales initiatives and prioritised customer engagement activities

Person Specification

  • Proven experience in sales, business development or bid leadership roles
  • Demonstrable track record of winning and converting complex commercial deals end-to-end
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to balance revenue, margin and risk
  • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills at senior and operational levels
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills within cross-functional environments
  • Highly driven, competitive and results-focused mindset
  • Confidence in using CRM systems and managing structured sales pipelines and forecasts
