Business Development Manager (Aerospace & Defence) in Birmingham

A leading and innovative advanced engineering group which specialises in developing bespoke solutions and technologies for use in the aerospace, defence, marine and high technology sectors has a new vacancy for a Business Development Manager to grow their presence in the Aerospace & Defence sectors.

The Role

Develop and implement a business development strategy for the Aerospace & sectors.

Identify new clients, markets, projects and strategic opportunities.

Develop and maintain a robust sales pipeline and accurately forecast future opportunities.

Monitor market trends, competitor activity and emerging technologies to identify opportunities for growth.

Represent the company at meetings, networking events and industry functions.

Act as a senior commercial point of contact for key defence and marine clients.

Develop trusted relationships with decision-makers, technical authorities, procurement teams

and senior management.

Understand client requirements and translate them into commercially viable engineering

solutions.

Lead or support responses to RFQs, tenders and framework opportunities.

Develop proposals, presentations and capability statements.

The Person

Proven experience in business development, sales or a related commercial role.

An established network of relevant aerospace & defence industry contacts and network.

Demonstrable experience developing new business and converting opportunities into

contracts.

Experience working with technically complex products, projects or engineering services.

Experience preparing or supporting tenders, proposals and commercial submissions.

Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills.

Ability to build credibility with senior technical and commercial stakeholders.

Strong commercial awareness and understanding of project profitability.
