Location: Covering the South West – flexible, largely remote with regular travel 

Salary: £50,000 + bonus + car allowance

About the Role

Ainsworth Recruitment is supporting a healthcare client in hiring a Business Development Manager – Complex Care to drive growth, build partnerships and expand service delivery across the South. This is a key role for an ambitious Business Development Manager who enjoys autonomy, relationship‑building and creating meaningful commercial opportunities.

Working closely with senior leaders and regional teams, the Business Development Manager will play a central part in developing new business, strengthening stakeholder relationships and supporting the delivery of tailored care solutions.

Key Responsibilities

As the Business Development Manager, you will:

  • Identify, develop and secure new business opportunities across the region
  • Build trusted relationships with social services, commissioning teams, ICBs, case managers and other stakeholders
  • Create and deliver effective business development strategies
  • Attend stakeholder meetings, partnership visits, events and conferences
  • Identify tender opportunities and collaborate with internal teams on successful bids
  • Work with Registered Managers and clinical teams to design tailored care solutions
  • Analyse market trends, competitor activity, compliance and risk to support commercial proposals
  • Manage your own pipeline, priorities and targets in line with business plans and OKRs
  • Bring fresh ideas, energy and an entrepreneurial approach to growing the services

This role requires a proactive Business Development Manager who can confidently represent the organisation and drive sustainable growth.

What We’re Looking For

The ideal Business Development Manager will have:

  • Experience within healthcare, social care or the acute healthcare market
  • Strong understanding of Community Care and operational delivery
  • Proven success working towards and achieving targets
  • Excellent relationship‑building and stakeholder management skills
  • Confidence engaging with senior decision‑makers
  • An entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to spot and convert opportunities
  • Strong organisation, communication and problem‑solving skills
