Main Purpose of the Role
The Business Development Manager will be responsible for developing new business opportunities, generating revenue and fulfilling apprenticeship cohorts by successfully placing apprentices into suitable workplace settings.
The Business Development Manager will build strong relationships with employers, identifying their recruitment and training needs, and matching suitable apprentices to employment opportunities.
The role will also support employers with the upskilling of existing staff members and promote relevant commercial products and events.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop strong relationships with employers and businesses in the surrounding areas through proactive sales activity, including sales calls, networking events, meetings and other engagement activities.
- Identify and understand employers' business, recruitment and training needs.
- Work closely with Intake Consultants to understand the strengths, aspirations and suitability of apprentices being put forward for vacancies.
- Match apprentices to appropriate job opportunities and arrange interviews with employers.
- Provide a single point of contact for existing key accounts, maintaining strong relationships and escalating any issues to management where appropriate.
- Ensure a positive and suitable fit between apprentices and employers, monitoring the progress of these relationships.
- Provide structured support to learners to ensure they are fully prepared for interviews and the commencement of employment.
- Ensure all compliance paperwork relating to apprentices' workplace and employment is completed accurately and in full prior to the learner's start date.
- Meet or exceed all relevant KPIs associated with the role.
- Effectively implement the Account Management strategy to ensure excellent service and strong retention of learners with employers.
- Promote other relevant commercial products, services and events.
- Identify opportunities to develop new business and generate additional revenue.
- Support employers with opportunities to upskill existing staff members.
- Contribute to the successful fulfilment of apprenticeship cohorts.
Key Objectives / KPIs
- Ensure all compliance paperwork relevant to apprentices' workplace and employment is fully completed and compliant prior to the learner's start date.
- Ensure a suitable match between apprentice and employer and monitor the ongoing progress of the relationship.
- Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of new employer opportunities.
- Achieve or exceed agreed business development, placement and revenue targets.
- Maintain high levels of employer and learner engagement and satisfaction.
