Our client is a market-leading organisation within the building safety sector, delivering innovative aftercare, planned preventative maintenance (PPM), and remote monitoring services to customers across the UK.
Due to continued growth, they are seeking an ambitious and commercially focused Business Development Manager to identify and secure new business opportunities and expand their presence across the Build to Rent, Facilities Management, Housing Associations, Local Authority, Property and Building Safety sectors. The client is open to candidates from a range of relevant backgrounds. Experience within building safety, fire alarm, fire protection, sprinkler systems, facilities management, property services, planned preventative maintenance or similar technical/service-led industries would be particularly relevant.
The Role
As Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for identifying, developing and securing new business opportunities, building relationships with key decision-makers and helping to grow the company's aftercare, PPM and remote monitoring services. You will have the opportunity to develop new markets, build strategic relationships and identify opportunities to provide additional services to existing and prospective customers.
Key Responsibilities
·Identify and target Principal Accountable Persons and key stakeholders across Build to Rent, Facilities Management, Housing Associations, Local Authorities, Property Management and related sectors.
·Generate new business opportunities through direct sales activity, networking, framework agreements and strategic account development.
·Maximise conversion opportunities for PPM and Remote Services by leveraging completed projects and existing customer relationships.
·Develop and maintain strong client relationships to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction, retention and repeat business.
·Conduct market research to identify emerging trends, competitor activity and new growth opportunities.
·Create and implement effective business development and sales strategies to achieve revenue and growth targets.
·Investigate and develop opportunities for additional service offerings to increase customer value and business profitability.
·Prepare, present and negotiate compelling proposals and commercial solutions tailored to client requirements.
·Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders including the Key Account Director, Aftercare Delivery teams, Marketing and Technical Support functions.
- Provide accurate reporting on pipeline activity, sales performance, forecasts and market intelligence to the Commercial Director – Sales.
About You
We are interested in hearing from commercially driven sales and business development professionals who have experience selling services, solutions or contracts within a relevant industry or customer environment.
Your background could include:
·Business Development, Sales or Account Management within building safety, fire alarm, fire protection or sprinkler systems.
·Facilities Management, property services or building maintenance.
·Planned preventative maintenance (PPM) or other technical/service-led environments.
·Working with Housing Associations, Local Authorities, Build to Rent, Property Management or Facilities Management organisations.
·Other closely related building, property, compliance or technical service industries where you have a strong track record of developing new business and building client relationships.
You will ideally have:
·Proven experience in a Business Development, Sales or Account Management role.
·A strong track record of identifying and converting new business opportunities.
·The ability to build relationships with senior stakeholders and key decision-makers.
·Excellent presentation, proposal writing, negotiation and influencing skills.
·A commercially astute approach, with the ability to identify opportunities that drive profitability and growth.
·Experience with framework agreements and public sector procurement routes would be advantageous, but is not essential.
·A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel as required.
