Role

We are seeking a Business Development Manager to drive new business growth across a range of manufacturing sectors, with a particular focus on manufacturing, packaging and processing applications. Experience of selling into the Chemical and Personal Care markets could be advantageous. This is a consultative sales role involving the sale of high-value capital equipment, with typical project values ranging from £100,000 to £3 million. You will be responsible for identifying and developing new customer opportunities, understanding complex operational requirements, and working closely with technical and engineering teams to deliver tailored solutions. The role offers significant autonomy, regular customer engagement across the UK, and the opportunity to manage complex sales cycles from initial enquiry through to project completion.

Person

The successful candidate will be a proactive and commercially minded business developer with a proven track record of winning new business in a consultative Technical Sales environment. Experience selling capital equipment, packaging machinery, bottling systems, industrial automation or other engineered solutions would be highly advantageous. You will be skilled at building relationships with multiple stakeholders, uncovering customer needs, and managing long-term sales opportunities. Strong communication, negotiation and presentation skills are essential, alongside the drive, resilience and self-motivation required to succeed in a field-based business development role.
