The Opportunity An established independent healthcare provider is seeking a commercially focused healthcare leader to drive service growth, maximise clinical capacity, and support the development of new revenue streams.
This is a hands-on role for an individual who combines strong operational healthcare experience with commercial acumen. Working closely with the business owner and senior stakeholders, you will identify growth opportunities, improve utilisation of existing facilities, develop relationships with clinicians and referrers, and support expansion into new services.
Key Responsibilities: Commercial Analysis & Performance
- Develop and maintain robust financial and operational models across clinical services.
- Analyse service profitability, utilisation, costs, and revenue performance.
- Provide commercial insight to support investment and growth decisions.
- Produce business cases, financial forecasts, and performance reports.
- Monitor service-line performance and recommend opportunities for improvement.
- Increase utilisation of existing clinical capacity.
- Establish and support relationships with consultants, clinicians, and healthcare professionals.
- Develop commercially viable partnership and practice models.
- Identify and secure new business opportunities across private healthcare markets.
- Build relationships with referrers, insurers, commissioners, and other stakeholders.
- Identify and evaluate NHS procurement opportunities.
- Support framework applications, tenders, contracts, and service bids.
- Prepare commercial submissions and supporting documentation.
- Assess opportunities against financial and operational capacity.
- Lead the implementation of approved business initiatives.
- Develop project plans covering operational, clinical, commercial, and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate stakeholders to ensure successful service launches.
- Monitor performance post-launch and implement corrective actions as required.
- Evaluate opportunities for new healthcare service lines.
- Conduct market, competitor, pricing, and demand analysis.
- Build business cases including ROI, margins, staffing requirements, and growth projections.
- Support the development of innovative private healthcare offerings.
- Significant operational leadership experience within healthcare.
- Experience developing, mobilising, or growing healthcare services.
- Strong commercial and financial understanding, including business cases, forecasting, and cost analysis.
- Experience working within regulated healthcare settings.
- Understanding of clinical operations, utilisation, workforce planning, and service capacity.
- Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to work independently and deliver projects without significant support infrastructure.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and project management skills.
- Independent healthcare or private hospital experience.
- NHS procurement, commissioning, or tendering experience.
- Experience developing consultant-led or practitioner-led services.
- Exposure to surgical services, diagnostics, dentistry, or outpatient healthcare.
- Experience introducing new healthcare services to market.
- Commercially minded and highly numerate.
- Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach.
- Comfortable challenging assumptions and influencing senior stakeholders.
