Francesca’s Recruitment Ltd is recruiting an experienced Business Development Manager to take full ownership of the Scotland territory. This is a high‑impact role suited to a Business Development Manager who excels in technical sales, wins new business with confidence, and thrives in a field‑based environment with autonomy and strong earning potential.

As the Business Development Manager for Scotland, you will represent a respected brand across industrial weighing systems, construction plant machinery, waste‑handling equipment and recycling solutions. You will engage with manufacturing, logistics, engineering, chemical, food, construction, waste management and recycling organisations, building long‑term commercial relationships and driving territory growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • New Business Development — As the Business Development Manager, you will proactively target new customers across industrial, plant, waste and recycling sectors, converting opportunities into sustainable accounts.

  • Technical Sales — Confidently specify weighing solutions ranging from straightforward installations to fully integrated systems within complex industrial environments.

  • Territory Management — Independently manage the Scotland region, ensuring strong market presence and comprehensive coverage.

  • Account Growth — Expand existing accounts, increase product penetration and secure repeat business.

  • Client Re‑activation — Re‑establish relationships with dormant clients and convert inactive accounts into revenue.

  • Sales Achievement — Consistently achieve and exceed sales targets, contributing to sustained territory performance.

Candidate Profile

We are seeking a Business Development Manager who:

  • Has a proven background in technical sales, ideally within weighbridges, weighing systems, plant machinery or waste‑handling equipment.

  • Demonstrates strong commercial instincts and a proactive, results‑driven approach.

  • Communicates confidently at all levels and builds trust quickly.

  • Works independently, manages their territory effectively and performs well under pressure.

  • Holds engineering or commercial qualifications, which are advantageous.

Location

Scotland. A central location is preferred but not essential.
