Business Development Manager - Technical Training Sector - Remote

Balance Education are currently working with a client that is looking for a Business Development Manager to enhance their portfolio of Adult Technical Training. Our client is a specialist automotive training provider.

This position is home based with regional travel for client meetings.

Main Purpose of the role:

  • Identify and engage with employers to generate commercial funded starts relating to our training programmes on offer
  • Proactively pursue leads and new opportunities with new target clients, developing strong propositions, exceptional relationships at all levels and communicating our growing service offering (both funded and commercial) across all key sectors
  • Generate own leads via field sales, cold calling, networking, and presentations to secure new employer accounts and promote our client as the Training Provider of choice
  • Manage and maximise employer relationships to secure new/repeat business

Package:-

- £40,000 Salary

- £4,200 Car Allowance

- Mielage Allowance

- 25 days annual leave

Essential experience and qualifications:-

- Functional skills at Level 2 in English, Maths and ICT or equivalent qualifications

- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a Business Development role; working to, achieving and exceeding targets

- A minimum of 1 years’ experience of Business Development in a similar role within the training sector/Experience of selling commercial training

- A proven track record in delivering results through building trust and relationships with other companies

- Experience of undertaking travel, meeting existing and prospective clients, and attending networking events

- Experience of presenting ideas, in a consultative manner at the highest executive level

- Proven experience of developing relationships, influencing, and negotiating with employers to secure new business.

- Full valid driving licence

Job Description:-

  • To grow revenue and identify strategies for future growth opportunities
  • To identify, manage and win key opportunities primarily with large clients
  • Consult with clients on their training needs analysis
  • A collaborative or supportive approach to bid management working with our bid management team
  • To manage financial aspects of each opportunity, including developing the opportunity budgets
  • To lead on proposal writing and presentation production and delivery for each opportunity
  • Maintain a high and frequent level of contact with key targets at all levels throughout customer organisations
  • Maintain sales plans and pipeline relevant to each opportunity
  • To carry out other duties as and when necessary to meet the varying demands of the business and satisfy customer needs.
  • Identification of opportunities to improve and develop business further
  • Promote a learning culture for the client through workforce planning, talent management, succession planning and leadership development
  • Remain abreast with developments in learning and development and funding arena in order to best advise clients and develop solutions
  • Use innovation as a tool to achieve growth and encourage its development in others
  • Plan and prioritise personal sales activities towards achieving agreed business aims
  • Complete all necessary reporting to keep line management and the wider business informed and progress towards achieving agreed targets
