This opportunity is offering £33-38,000 depending on experience and will be fully office-based in Lymington.
Candidates will have previous experience within purchasing or procurement specifically within a manufacturing environment.
Role responsibilities of the Buyer include:
- Raise and manage purchase orders using the ERP system to ensure the timely supply of materials for production.
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships, monitoring performance to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and on-time delivery.
- Negotiate pricing and commercial terms with suppliers to achieve cost savings while maintaining quality and service standards.
- Maintain accurate procurement data, monitor inventory levels, and support demand planning to optimise stock availability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Production, Engineering, Warehouse and Planning to support business objectives and resolve supply issues.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by supporting procurement strategies, supplier performance reviews, and operational excellence across the purchasing function.
Person Specification of the Buyer:
- Previous experience in a purchasing or procurement or Buyer role within a manufacturing (ideally mechanical) background.
- Organised and results-driven, with experience using MRP/ERP systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make informed purchasing decisions.
- Confident in dealing with all levels of people in a professional manner.
- Driven and motivated individual with a desire to progress.
Salary
Up to £38k
This positions requires full onsite presence with no hybrid working
