Buyer – Orpington, Kent - Commercial & Residential Refurbishment Contractor (Internals & Externals) - Permanent - Mon-Fri 8am-5:30pm

Our client are a refurbishment contractor based in Orpington, who deliver mixed specification of  projects across London. 

Duties:

• Manage supplier relationships to ensure highest service levels.

• Negotiate deals with suppliers to keep material costs low.

• Manage supplier lead times to ensure materials are procured in a timely manner.

• Raising accurate PO’s for materials.

• Resolve supply issues and implement solutions to stop re-occurrence.

• Implement changes to supply chain to improve efficiency.

• Monitor supplier performance to ensure levels are meeting company expectations.

• Process and allocate relevant invoices via close working with Contract Managers and Surveyors.

• Organise deliveries in a timely and cost effective manner using our supplier network.

Experience/skills needed:

•  A capable and experienced buyer, with a background in procurement, able to demonstrate strong negotiation skills.

• Experience within a construction environment preferred.

• Organised with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Able to work in a fast moving construction environment with frequent priority/demand changes.

• A team player, able to communicate well with all departments, across all levels.

• Ability to prioritise actions.

• Competent MS Office and IT skills.
