Portfolio Procurement

Portfolio Procurement has been engaged by our Surrey based client to recruit for a Buyer.

Main purpose of role:

To own, maintain and develop an assigned portfolio of suppliers and products. Building strong, performance-managed supplier relationships that secure continuity of supply, drive down cost and risk, and keep stock and service levels on target.

Duties:

  • Own and maintain an assigned portfolio of suppliers.
  • Hold regular supplier reviews.
  • Ensure supplier terms and agreements are maintained and up to date.
  • Build strong, long-term relationships with suppliers.
  • Negotiate pricing, rebates, lead times with suppliers to meet company cost and margin targets.
  • Place and expedite timely purchase orders
  • Maintain correct stock levels.

Skills and Experience required:

  • Previous experience as a Buyer from within a manufacturing environment
  • Good negotiation experience.
  • Previous experience with managing suppliers.
  • Good numeracy and written skills.
  • Confident with various computer programmes including Outlook, Excel and an ERP/MRP system.
