Opportunity to be trained in Quantity Surveying
An exciting opportunity for a Buyer to join a growing residential developer in a varied role offering full training, autonomy, and excellent long-term progression. You will have the opportunity to develop your procurement expertise while also gaining hands-on exposure to Quantity Surveying, helping you build a well-rounded commercial skill set.

With over 50 years of experience delivering residential developments and care homes across Hampshire, this established developer has a strong pipeline of upcoming projects and is continuing to grow its team.
Working closely with the Commercial Manager, you will play a key role in the procurement and commercial management of projects from initial tender through to completion. You will liaise with suppliers and subcontractors, negotiate competitive rates, manage procurement schedules, and gain valuable exposure to the wider commercial side of construction.
The ideal candidate will have experience in a buying, procurement, or quantity surveying role within the construction industry, alongside a strong understanding of construction materials and the ability to communicate confidently with suppliers and subcontractors. You will be proactive, adaptable, and keen to learn, with full training and support available to help you develop your career within Buying or Quantity Surveying.

The Role:
- Procuring subcontractors, materials, and services for construction projects
- Liaising with suppliers and subcontractors to negotiate competitive rates
- Supporting tenders, contracts, purchase orders, valuations, and variations
- Monitoring project costs, budgets, and procurement schedules
- Supporting the commercial management of projects from tender through to completion
- Attending regular site visits to monitor progress and upcoming material requirements
The Person:
- Experience in a Buying, Procurement, or Quantity Surveying role within the construction industry
- Good understanding of construction materials and procurement processes
- Confident communicating and negotiating with suppliers and subcontractors
- Proactive, adaptable, and hardworking approach
- Keen to develop a long-term career within Buying or Quantity Surveying
- Full UK driving licence and happy to travel to project sites as required
