The Procurement division at SF Partners is recruiting for a fantastic Buyer role to join a brilliant business based in South Leicestershire. This is an exciting, newly created opportunity due to business growth and demand.
The Buyer job is a varied role providing support across the whole procurement function, managing your own projects and also supporting on business wide tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Take ownership of the day-to-day coordination of procurement activity, ensuring orders, information and actions are progressed efficiently.
- Support the delivery of purchasing projects, helping to coordinate timelines, suppliers, approvals and internal requirements.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with suppliers, gathering commercial information and ensuring queries are followed through to resolution.
- Manage and update product and supplier information across internal systems, ensuring data is accurate, consistent and maintained to a high standard.
- Act as a key point of contact for Procurement, Sales and Marketing teams, providing accurate product and supplier information when required.
- Review existing processes and identify practical ways to improve efficiency, accuracy and the overall procurement workflow.
- Assist with the coordination of exhibitions, product launches, photography and other company events, working alongside internal teams and external contacts.
- Prepare and maintain a range of reports, spreadsheets, presentations and supporting documentation for the Procurement function.
- Support the production and checking of product information, catalogues and other customer-facing materials, ensuring content is accurate and up to date.
- Provide wider operational support to the Procurement team, taking ownership of ad-hoc projects and responsibilities and ensuring deadlines are consistently met.
The successful candidate will be someone who enjoys taking ownership, improving processes and working across multiple areas of the business.
Experience & Skills Required:
- Previous experience in procurement, purchasing, buying, supply chain or a commercially focused coordination role.
- A proven ability to work confidently with suppliers, customers and internal departments, building effective working relationships.
- Strong administrative capability, with excellent organisation and the ability to keep multiple tasks and projects moving simultaneously.
- A high level of accuracy and attention to detail, particularly when handling product, pricing, supplier or system information.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint, with confidence working with spreadsheets and large amounts of information.
- Experience using ERP, purchasing, CRM or database systems, with the ability to learn new systems quickly.
- A commercially minded approach, with an understanding of purchasing, supplier relationships, pricing and the importance of accurate product information.
- A proactive and self-motivated attitude, with the confidence to identify issues, suggest improvements and take responsibility for getting things done.
