Category C+E Container Driver

Job Type: Temporary ongoing
Hourly rate: Between £22.41 to £24.41 per hour (This is an assignment rate via our FCSA approved umbrella company on a PAYE basis)

About the Role

We are currently seeking an experienced and reliable Category C+E (Class 1) Container Driver to join our prestigious client based in Walsall.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient collection and delivery of shipping containers to ports, depots, and customer sites while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and safety.

As a Category C+E Driver, your duties will include the following:
  • Collect and deliver shipping containers to and from UK ports and customer locations.
  • Complete daily vehicle checks and report any defects.
  • Ensure all deliveries and collections are completed safely and on time.
  • Comply with all Driver Hours, Working Time Directive and tachograph regulations.
  • Maintain accurate delivery paperwork and electronic records.
  • Communicate effectively with the transport office regarding schedules and any delays.
  • Provide excellent customer service at all delivery and collection points.
The ideal Category C+E Driver will have the following:
  • Valid UK Category C+E (Class 1) driving licence.
  • Valid Driver CPC card
  • Digital Tachograph Card.
  • Previous container driving experience is essential
  • Good knowledge of UK road transport legislation and drivers' hours regulations.
  • A professional, reliable, and flexible attitude.
  • Maximum of 6 penalty points (no DR, DD or IN convictions).
  • You must have held your Category C+E Licence for a minimum of 2 years
