Senior Civil & Structural CAD Designer | Manchester

Contract Length: 6 months

We're hiring a Civil & Structural CAD / BIM Designer to join our client's Water team in Manchester. This hybrid opportunity offers a mix of office and home-based working, supporting the delivery of innovative water infrastructure projects from concept through to detailed design.

Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced Civil & Structural CAD Designer who can work with a high degree of autonomy while producing high-quality design deliverables across a varied portfolio of water projects. The successful Civil & Structural CAD Designer will be responsible for developing and producing 2D and 3D civil and structural design solutions, creating BIM models, technical drawings and sketches, and supporting projects throughout the entire design lifecycle. The role involves working with Revit, Autodesk Civil 3D and AutoCAD, ensuring designs are delivered within budget and programme requirements, whilst maintaining compliance with relevant standards and procedures. You will collaborate closely with engineers, designers, clients, project teams and other disciplines to ensure effective project delivery and well-defined interfaces. The position is based in Manchester with hybrid working arrangements and occasional travel to project sites and other offices as required.

Requirements

Essential

  • City & Guilds, HNC or HND qualification in a relevant discipline.
  • Strong experience producing civil and structural CAD design deliverables in 2D and 3D.
  • Proficiency with Revit, Autodesk Civil 3D and AutoCAD.
  • Competence in the design and detailing of foundations, below-ground infrastructure, drainage, cable ducting, steelwork and concrete structures.
  • The ability to manage and delegate design activities.

Desirable

  • EngTech or IEng ICE professional qualification.
  • Experience with 4D simulation, construction sequencing and clash detection software.
  • Reinforced concrete detailing experience.
