An established Building Services consultancy is looking for an experienced M&E CAD Technician to join its growing technical team.

The Role

As an M&E CAD Technician, you will support the Mechanical and Electrical design teams by producing accurate and high-quality 2D CAD drawings for building services projects.

You will work closely with engineers, project leads and other technicians to ensure drawing packages are delivered accurately, efficiently and to the required standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce, amend and maintain 2D CAD drawings for Mechanical and Electrical building services.
  • Support engineers with drawing packages for tender, construction and as-built stages.
  • Produce schematics, layouts and standard details.
  • Ensure drawings and documentation comply with company and industry standards.
  • Manage drawing files using established naming conventions and document control procedures.
  • Coordinate drawings with other disciplines to ensure fully integrated project outputs.
  • Update and modify existing drawings as project requirements develop.
  • Work across multiple projects while maintaining accuracy and deadlines.

Requirements

  • Strong proficiency in 2D AutoCAD.
  • Previous experience working within an M&E / Building Services environment.
  • Good understanding of Mechanical and/or Electrical building services layouts.
  • Experience producing schematics, layouts and standard details.
  • Previous experience working on building projects within a consultancy or contractor environment.
  • Good understanding of CAD standards and document control.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a consistent approach to drawing production.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
