CAD Technician

Elevation Recruitment Group are recruiting for an CAD Technician on behalf of a growing engineering and construction business delivering technically complex infrastructure projects across the UK and overseas.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience coordinating engineering or construction design activities who is looking to progress into challenging role with a great business. Working closely with the Design & Engineering Manager, you'll play a key role in managing the flow of design information, coordinating external design partners and ensuring engineering documentation is delivered accurately and on programme.

Rather than producing detailed engineering calculations or undertaking technical design work, you'll facilitate the design process from initial concept through to construction, ensuring drawings and documentation are reviewed, issued and controlled effectively.

As CAD Technicians, you'll support the delivery of multiple projects by coordinating design activities between clients, external design consultants, CAD specialists and internal project teams.

Key responsibilities include:

• Coordinating the production, review and issue of design drawings and engineering documentation.
• Managing the flow of design information between clients, external design consultants, CAD providers and internal teams.
• Reviewing drawings and documentation to ensure they meet project requirements before issue.
• Tracking design deliverables and ensuring information is issued in line with project programmes.
• Coordinating design reviews and ensuring comments are incorporated and communicated to relevant stakeholders.
• Acting as the central point of contact for design-related queries throughout project delivery.
• Supporting project teams by resolving drawing and documentation queries during construction.
• Liaising with clients, consultants, subcontractors and internal departments throughout the project lifecycle.
• Maintaining document control and ensuring revision management is accurate.
• Supporting continuous improvement of design management processes and documentation standards.
• Assisting the Design & Engineering Manager with planning workloads and coordinating external design resource.

We're looking for someone with:

• Experience coordinating design information within engineering, construction, manufacturing or infrastructure projects.
• An understanding of engineering drawings and technical documentation, without necessarily being responsible for producing the designs.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Excellent communication skills and confidence liaising with clients, consultants and internal stakeholders.
• Experience working with CAD drawings, drawing registers or document management systems.
• A proactive, organised approach with excellent attention to detail.
• Ambitions to develop into a Design Manager.

Previous experience in a Design Coordinator, Engineering Coordinator, Technical Coordinator, Project Coordinator or similar role would be highly advantageous.
