CAM Applications Engineer - CNC Programmer – Milling
Chelmsford, Essex | Up to £60,000 + Excellent Benefits
Are you an experienced CNC Programmer or CAM Engineer looking to move away from day-to-day production machining?
We are working with an exciting and rapidly growing manufacturing technology company in Chelmsford that is developing innovative software for the CNC machining industry.
They are looking for a technically strong CNC/CAM professional with excellent milling knowledge to join their team in a unique role combining CAM programming, technical demonstrations and content creation.
This is not a traditional production machining role. You won't be spending your days running machines or producing components. Instead, you'll use your machining and programming expertise to demonstrate software, develop machining applications and create technical videos and tutorials showing customers and the wider manufacturing industry how the technology can be used.
Key Duties
- Programming CNC milling applications using CAM software
- Demonstrating CNC/CAM software and machining strategies
- Creating and presenting technical videos, tutorials and demonstrations
- Explaining complex machining concepts in a clear and engaging way
- Developing machining examples to showcase software capabilities
- Preparing tooling, workholding and machines for demonstrations/filming
- Working alongside technical and marketing teams
What We're Looking For
- Strong CNC milling and CAM programming background
- Good understanding of tooling, workholding and machining strategies
- Experience within 5-axis machining
- Ability to diagnose machining and production issues
- Confident communicator who is comfortable presenting and appearing on camera
- Genuine enthusiasm for CNC machining and manufacturing technology
Experience with Siemens NX, Mastercam or Autodesk Fusion would be particularly advantageous.
You don't need to have worked in marketing or created professional videos before. We're looking for someone with genuine machining credibility who can confidently explain what they're doing and why.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced CNC Programmer, CAM Programmer or Applications Engineer who wants to remain at the forefront of machining technology while moving away from a traditional production environment.
