MMP Consultancy is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor for a temporary opportunity based in Redditch. This is an office-based position working 37 hours per week, with occasional site attendance across Redditch. This role is paying £45ph umbrella inside of IR35.
Working within Housing Property Services, you'll play a key role in the procurement and financial management of housing maintenance and improvement contracts. You'll be responsible for developing contract documentation, managing valuations and payments, agreeing variations and final accounts, and producing accurate financial reporting to support the successful delivery of projects and services.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare contract documentation including tenders, bills of quantities, work schedules, specifications and schedules of rates.
- Support the procurement of goods, services and works contracts, including participation in tender evaluations and reporting outcomes.
- Undertake site measurements and valuations of completed works.
- Prepare interim payments, payment notifications and associated contractual documentation.
- Assess and agree costs for variations and non-standard items of work.
- Analyse, negotiate and agree contractor claims and final accounts.
- Produce accurate financial reports across a range of projects and contracts.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of standard methods of measurement and forms of contract.
- Assess, calculate and present leaseholder contributions and service charges.
- Carry out service charge reviews where required.
- Assist with the preparation of returns for government bodies, regulators and external funding providers.
- Support the delivery of high-quality housing investment and maintenance programmes.
Requirements:
- Minimum of two years' post-qualification experience carrying out pre- and post-contract Quantity Surveying duties.
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying.
- Experience working within the construction, housing or property sector.
- Strong knowledge of various forms of building contracts and contract administration.
- Proven experience managing revenue, capital and externally funded budgets.
- Experience preparing and issuing contract administration documentation.
- Knowledge of UK health and safety legislation, including CDM Regulations.
- Strong commercial awareness and financial management skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage a varied workload.
