Location: Glasgow, Lockerbie, Dumfries & Galloway
Salary: £32,500 per annum + performance-related bonus
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Working Location: Glasgow and Lockerbie (approx. 2 days in Lockerbie, TBC)

About the Role

Our client is an established and respected home care provider, delivering high-quality, person-centred domiciliary care services within the local community since 2004.

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Care Manager to take overall responsibility for the day-to-day management and delivery of the service.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced care professional who is passionate about delivering high standards of care and has the leadership skills to manage and develop a dedicated team.

You will play a key role in ensuring the service remains compliant, well organised and focused on delivering safe, effective and genuinely person-centred care.

The Role

As Care Manager, you will be responsible for the effective operational management of the domiciliary care service, ensuring high standards of care, compliance and service delivery are maintained.

You will lead and support the office and care teams, manage staffing and rotas, oversee care planning and quality assurance, and build strong relationships with service users, families and external professionals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day operation of the domiciliary care service.
  • Provide effective leadership, supervision and support to office staff and care workers.
  • Ensure the service operates in accordance with relevant legislation, regulations, company policies and Care Inspectorate requirements.
  • Maintain and continuously improve standards of care and service delivery.
  • Ensure appropriate staffing levels and effective workforce planning.
  • Coordinate care plans, staff schedules and care rotas to ensure an efficient service.
  • Ensure person-centred care plans and risk assessments are regularly reviewed and updated.
  • Monitor quality assurance, audits, incidents, complaints and required actions.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with GDPR and relevant data protection requirements.
  • Build positive and professional relationships with service users, relatives, local authorities, healthcare professionals and other stakeholders.
  • Promote a positive, supportive and professional working culture across the service.
  • Identify opportunities to improve the quality, efficiency and growth of the service.
  • Support the ongoing development, training and performance of the care team.
  • You will be working from Glasgow AND Lockerbie subject to requirements.  You must be able to work from both locations

About You

We are looking for an experienced care professional with strong leadership and organisational skills who understands the requirements of delivering high-quality domiciliary care.

You will ideally have previous experience in a supervisory or management position and a good understanding of Care Inspectorate standards and the Scottish Health & Social Care Standards.

Essential Requirements

  • Full, valid UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
  • Appropriate registration with the SSSC.
  • SVQ Level 4 in Social Care, or currently working towards this qualification.
  • Strong knowledge of Care Inspectorate requirements and Scottish Health & Social Care Standards.
  • Relevant training/certification in areas such as Health & Safety, First Aid, Food Hygiene and Moving & Handling.
  • Previous experience within care, preferably domiciliary/home care.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organisational, leadership and problem-solving abilities.
  • Good written and verbal English.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word and Outlook.

Desirable Experience

  • Previous experience managing a domiciliary or home care service.
  • Experience of workforce planning and rota management.
  • Experience of supervising and supporting care staff.
  • Experience conducting staff supervisions and performance reviews.
  • Knowledge of effective care service delivery and continuous improvement.
  • Experience using electronic care planning or care management systems.

Performance-Related Bonus

In addition to the basic salary, the role includes a performance-related bonus scheme, with rewards linked to the growth, efficiency and overall performance of the business and service delivery.

PVG Requirement

This role involves regulated work with vulnerable adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.
