Location: Brighton & Hove
Pay: From £13.68 per hour
Shifts: Flexible Monday-Sunday (Early, Late, Long Days, Waking Nights, Sleep-ins and Ad Hoc Shifts)

Care Support Workers, to work across adult, children's, supported living, and hostel services are required for the Brighton & Hove area. There are short- and long-term bookings available. You will join our team of carers offering day-to-day support to service users for residential and supported living units.
This rewarding role involves supporting vulnerable adults and adolescence people, catering for the differing needs of the client including mild to severe learning and mental health difficulties, physical disabilities, sensory impairments, dysphagia, challenging behaviour, epilepsy, the beginnings of age-related conditions, particularly dementia, and, other complex support requirements, enabling them to live safely, independently, and with dignity.
We are looking for compassionate individuals with the capacity to connect with people. Whilst you will bring empathy to the role, you will also be able to set boundaries, demonstrating patience and resilience.
Ideally you will have experience of working with adults and/or children in a residential setting or on a 1-1 basis.
You will need the ability to use creative ways to communicate with adults and children,be quick to learn, be available to work flexible hours and, be innovative to meet the changing and challenging needs of the clients.
You will have the ability to form trusted relationships with clients in your care by supporting them with their social and emotional development and educational achievements, all whilst setting boundaries and bringing consistency to their lives.
You will be expected to work shifts including mornings, days, afternoons, evenings, weekends, Bank Holidays, and sleep-ins.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide person-centred care and support
- Assist with personal care, bathing, dressing and hygiene
- Support mobility, moving and handling, and use of equipment
- Administer medication (training provided)
- Assist with meal preparation and daily living activities
- Provide emotional support, companionship and social engagement
- Support residents within supported living, hostel and community-based services
- Follow care plans, risk assessments and safeguarding procedures
- Complete accurate records, handovers and incident reports
- Carry out household tasks including cleaning, laundry and maintaining a safe environment
- Respond appropriately to emergencies, incidents and welfare concerns
- Following care plans, routines, guidelines, risk assessments, and Behaviour Management Plans
- Shopping and cleaning
Ideal Candidate:

✔ Access to transport for travelling between services
Children's Services Requirement:
For roles supporting children and adolescence people, a Children's Enhanced DBS check is required, along with a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. Previous experience is essential.
Hostels:
Guidant Global also supply Support Care Workers for Adults to hostels in the Brighton & Hove area. We are looking for reliable and proactive individuals to join our team in a hostel support role. You will help maintain a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for the hostel residents while supporting the aims and values of the project.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure residents comply with the agreed conditions of the premises
- Patrol and monitor all areas regularly, ensuring safety and security procedures are followed
- Challenge and address behaviour that conflicts with the hostel's aims, including handling complaints appropriately
- Maintain accurate records of events and incidents
- Carry out cleaning duties, including washing and drying bed linen
- Complete administrative tasks (manual and computerised), such as filing, photocopying, and processing invoices for manager approval
- Provide personal care when required
- Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations
We provide services to the general public, clients and service users so you will be able to communicate fluently in English, both verbally and in writing.
If successful, you will be required to undertake on-line safeguarding training and hold an Enhanced DBS, which will be at no cost to yourself.
