Job SummaryCare Support Workers are required to support pupils with severe learning difficulties, autism and complex needs within a specialist SEND school in Walsall. This rewarding role is ideal for candidates from care, residential and support work backgrounds looking to transfer their skills into education. Long-term opportunities are available, with many roles offering the potential to become permanent.
The School and RoleMary Elliot Academy is a specialist SEND school supporting learners aged 11–18 with severe learning difficulties (SLD), profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD), autism and complex medical needs. The school is looking to appoint compassionate and proactive Care Support Workers to support pupils throughout the school day.
Working alongside experienced teachers, therapists and support staff, you will help pupils access learning through a highly personalised and sensory-based curriculum. Your role will include supporting communication and social development, promoting independence, assisting with personal care and encouraging positive engagement both inside and outside of the classroom.

RequirementsThe desired Care Support Worker will have;
- Experience working in care, residential or support work settings is desirable
- A willingness to support personal care and mobility needs
- A patient, caring and proactive approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A passion for supporting young people with additional needs
