Caretaker

Pay: £15-£18 per hour, depending on experience | Full-Time | Start Date: 2nd November

Academics is seeking a dependable and practical individual for a Caretaker position at a local primary school in Blaenau Gwent, starting on 2nd November.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with hands-on maintenance skills who takes pride in creating a safe, clean and welcoming school environment. You will help ensure the premises are well-maintained and ready for pupils, staff and visitors each day.

Your duties as a Caretaker will include:

• Opening and securing the school premises at designated times.

• Carrying out general maintenance and minor repairs.

• Keeping school buildings and outdoor areas clean, tidy and presentable.

• Undertaking cleaning duties when required.

• Identifying faults and reporting maintenance or safety concerns.

• Assisting with the smooth day-to-day operation of the school site.

• Helping provide a safe and welcoming environment for everyone on the premises.

• Location: Blaenau Gwent, South Wales.

• Start date: 2nd November.

• Hours: 6:30am-9:30am and 2:30pm-5:30pm.

• Working pattern: Full-time, split shifts.

• Pay: £15-£18 per hour, based on experience.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Previous experience in caretaking, facilities or general maintenance.

• Practical abilities and confidence undertaking minor repairs.

• A reliable, proactive and hardworking attitude.

• The ability to work independently and prioritise tasks.

• A strong commitment to health, safety and site security.

Experience in a school environment would be beneficial but is not essential.
