Caretaker

Job Type: Full-Time Temporary Agency Contract (Project-Based)
Pay Rate: £21.03 per hour Umbrella
Hours: 37 hours per week

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Caretaker to join a busy Extra Care housing scheme in Hounslow. This is a varied, hands-on role that would suit someone with experience in caretaking, facilities, estate services, maintenance or housing who enjoys working in a customer-focused environment.

You'll play an important part in ensuring the scheme is safe, clean, well-maintained and welcoming for residents, visitors and colleagues.

• Carry out day-to-day caretaking and facilities duties across the scheme.
• Maintain communal areas, external grounds and walkways to a high standard.
• Undertake cleaning duties, including specialist steam cleaning where required.
• Assist with moving furniture, setting up communal areas and supporting office or resident moves.
• Receive and distribute deliveries, supplies and equipment.
• Monitor stock levels and keep storage areas organised.
• Support waste management, including bulk rubbish removal.
• Carry out routine health and safety checks and report any maintenance issues.
• Assist with pest prevention measures and liaise with contractors when required.
• Respond to ad hoc requests from residents and colleagues to support the smooth running of the scheme.

• Previous experience as a Caretaker, Estate Caretaker, Facilities Assistant, Maintenance Operative, Handyperson or in a similar role.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage a varied workload.
• Practical maintenance skills and a proactive approach.
• Understanding of health and safety responsibilities.
• Experience working within housing, residential, care or facilities environments is desirable.
• Reliable, organised and committed to maintaining high standards.

• £21.03 per hour Umbrella.
• 37 hours per week.
• Full-time temporary agency assignment.
