Caretaker/Maintenance Operative in Woodbridge, Suffolk

We are currently recruiting for a reliable and practical Caretaker to join our client’s team. This is a varied, hands-on role, suited to someone who takes pride in maintaining a safe, clean and well-presented environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the general upkeep of the premises, carrying out routine maintenance and ensuring any issues are dealt with promptly.

Key responsibilities include:

• General caretaking and maintenance duties across the premises
• Carrying out minor repairs and basic maintenance work
• Monitoring the condition of the building, fixtures and fittings
• Carrying out routine checks and reporting any faults or issues
• Moving furniture, equipment and other items as required
• Ensuring external areas are kept tidy and well maintained
• Assisting with deliveries and contractors when required
• Maintaining a safe and secure environment
• Responding to general maintenance requests
• Supporting with other practical duties as required

The ideal candidate will have:

• Previous experience in a caretaking, maintenance or similar practical role
• Good general DIY and maintenance skills
• A practical, hands-on approach
• The ability to work independently and use initiative
• Good organisational and communication skills
• A reliable and flexible attitude
• Awareness of health and safety requirements

This is a varied role where no two days are necessarily the same, and would suit someone who enjoys practical work and takes pride in keeping a property running smoothly.
