About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and reliable Carpenter Multi-Trade Operative to join our growing repairs and maintenance team, delivering high-quality work across our social housing properties.

The successful candidate will carry out a wide range of responsive repairs, planned maintenance, and void property works, ensuring all jobs are completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard while providing excellent customer service to our residents.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out all aspects of first and second fix carpentry.
  • Complete multi-trade repairs including basic:
    • Plumbing
    • Tiling
    • Plastering
    • Painting and decorating
    • Patch repairs
  • Repair and install doors, frames, skirting, kitchens, locks, flooring, and other carpentry elements.
  • Undertake responsive repairs, planned works, and void property refurbishments.
  • Diagnose faults and identify the most effective repair solutions.
  • Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations.
  • Complete job reports accurately using handheld devices.
  • Deliver excellent customer service while working in occupied homes.

What We're Looking For

Essential:

  • NVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualification in Carpentry (or time-served experience).
  • Proven experience working within social housing repairs and maintenance.
  • Strong carpentry skills with experience across multiple trades.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.

Desirable:

  • Experience using PDA/mobile job management systems.
  • Asbestos awareness training.
  • Health & Safety qualifications.
  • Experience working within responsive maintenance contracts.
