About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and reliable Carpenter Multi-Trade Operative to join our growing repairs and maintenance team, delivering high-quality work across our social housing properties.
The successful candidate will carry out a wide range of responsive repairs, planned maintenance, and void property works, ensuring all jobs are completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard while providing excellent customer service to our residents.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out all aspects of first and second fix carpentry.
- Complete multi-trade repairs including basic:
- Plumbing
- Tiling
- Plastering
- Painting and decorating
- Patch repairs
- Repair and install doors, frames, skirting, kitchens, locks, flooring, and other carpentry elements.
- Undertake responsive repairs, planned works, and void property refurbishments.
- Diagnose faults and identify the most effective repair solutions.
- Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations.
- Complete job reports accurately using handheld devices.
- Deliver excellent customer service while working in occupied homes.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- NVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualification in Carpentry (or time-served experience).
- Proven experience working within social housing repairs and maintenance.
- Strong carpentry skills with experience across multiple trades.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
Desirable:
- Experience using PDA/mobile job management systems.
- Asbestos awareness training.
- Health & Safety qualifications.
- Experience working within responsive maintenance contracts.
