We are seeking an experienced and motivated Carpenter to join our maintenance team, delivering high-quality repairs and maintenance services across social housing properties.
Working in occupied and void homes, you'll carry out a wide range of carpentry repairs and installations while maintaining excellent standards of workmanship and customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out responsive and planned carpentry repairs within social housing properties.
- Repair, replace, and install:
- Internal and external doors
- Door frames and architraves
- Skirting boards
- Kitchens and worktops
- Flooring and timber structures
- Locks, ironmongery, and door furniture
- Windows and timber repairs
- Complete first and second fix carpentry work.
- Undertake minor multi-trade tasks where required, including basic plumbing, tiling, decorating, or patch plastering.
- Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
- Maintain accurate records of completed work using handheld devices or paperwork.
- Provide excellent customer service and communicate professionally with tenants and colleagues.
- Keep company vehicles, tools, and equipment clean and well maintained.
Requirements
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Carpentry and Joinery (or equivalent experience).
- Proven experience working as a Carpenter, ideally within social housing, property maintenance, or responsive repairs.
- Strong knowledge of first and second fix carpentry.
- Ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
