Carpenter – Long-Term Contract

Location: Bedford
Rate: £180-£200 per day
Contract: Long-term freelance

Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of work, we are looking for a skilled and reliable Carpenter to join the team on a long-term contract basis.

The initial role will be based within a secured environment, working as part of a day-to-day reactive maintenance team. You must therefore be comfortable working in a secure environment and able to successfully complete the required security vetting.

The Role

You will be responsible for a range of reactive carpentry and general maintenance tasks, including:

• Reactive carpentry maintenance and repairs
• Door repairs, adjustments and replacements
• Skirting, architraves and general woodwork repairs
• Repairs to fixtures, fittings and furniture
• Basic joinery and remedial works
• General building fabric repairs
• Using power tools safely and effectively

Long-term opportunities to work across a wider range of public and private sector sites, including hospitals, educational establishments, social housing and other secure environments.

Essential Requirements

• Previous experience working as a Carpenter
• CSCS card
• NVQ Level 2 or equivalent carpentry/joinery qualification
• Full UK Driving Licence
• Own transport and tools
• Ability to operate power tools
• Fluent English communication skills
• Ability to pass strict background checks and security vetting

A current DBS would be advantageous. If you do not already hold one, assistance can be provided with obtaining this.
