Carpenter

Carpenter – 2–3 Week Contract – Southampton

We are currently looking for an experienced Carpenter to join a construction site in Southampton on a 2–3 week contract.

The successful candidate will have solid carpentry skills and be confident working with MDF, timber and a range of hand and power tools. This is a hands-on role involving boxing, general carpentry and supporting other trades on site.

Duties will include:

• Measuring and setting out boxing areas accurately.
• Making and fitting boxing using MDF board.
• Cutting MDF using a hand saw and jigsaw.
• Measuring, cutting and fixing timber sections.
• Pilot drilling and securely screwing sections together.
• Fixing completed boxing securely into position.
• Laying and removing Corex floor protection.
• Removing and replacing ceiling tiles to allow plumbing and electrical works to be carried out.
• Assisting plumbing and electrical trades where required.
• Carrying out general carpentry and builders' work as required.
• Keeping the work area clean, tidy and safe.

Requirements:

• Valid CSCS card – essential.
• Own tools – essential.
• Previous experience as a Carpenter, Multi-Trader or skilled Handyman.
• Good practical carpentry and general building skills.
• Ability to accurately measure, cut and fix MDF and timber.
• Confident using hand and power tools.
• Good attention to detail.
• Reliable, punctual and able to work as part of a team.
• Good understanding of health and safety on a construction site.
