This is a fantastic opportunity to join a leading College within its Construction, Trades & Heritage faculty. Working as part of a supportive and developing team, you'll play an important role in maintaining high standards across apprenticeship delivery, employer engagement, learner progress and assessment quality.

As a Carpentry & Joinery Assessor, you'll assess apprentices in the workplace, ensuring all assessment activity is completed in line with apprenticeship standards, awarding body requirements and internal quality procedures. You'll carry out progress reviews, set SMART targets, provide constructive feedback, support EPA Gateway preparation, and maintain accurate learner records using digital platforms and e-portfolios such as OneFile.

The ideal candidate will have a strong Carpentry & Joinery background with up-to-date industry knowledge and a Level 3 qualification or equivalent experience. You should hold a recognised assessor qualification such as TAQA, CAVA or A1, alongside strong communication, organisation and learner support skills. A Level 4 teaching qualification would be beneficial, although candidates willing to work towards this may also be considered.

The role:

*Assess Carpentry & Joinery apprentices in the workplace.
*Carry out apprentice progress reviews and provide tailored learner support.
*Set SMART targets and provide constructive feedback.
*Support learners with EPA Gateway preparation.
*Liaise with employers, apprentices and external bodies.
*Maintain accurate learner records using digital platforms and e-portfolios such as OneFile.
*Ensure assessment activity meets apprenticeship standards, awarding body requirements and internal quality procedures.
*Work closely with the Deputy Head of Faculty - Construction Trades & Heritage.
*Permanent position, 37 hours per week.

The person:

*Carpentry & Joinery background essential.
*Level 3 Carpentry & Joinery qualification or equivalent experience.
*Up-to-date industry knowledge.
*Full driving licence and own transport required.
*Strong communication and feedback skills.
*Good organisation and time management.
*Confident using e-portfolios and digital systems.
*Experience working with apprentices, employers and external bodies.
*Looking for a long-term opportunity within education and apprenticeship delivery.
