Location: Belvedere, London
Salary: £33,762 - £44,027 per annum

The Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Carpentry & Joinery Technician to support the delivery of high-quality construction training within a busy educational environment.
Working from a well-equipped workshop, you will ensure materials, tools, equipment and facilities are prepared and maintained to support practical teaching sessions. You will work closely with lecturers and students, providing technical assistance, maintaining safe working environments and helping learners develop their practical skills.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong industry experience who enjoys sharing their knowledge and supporting future construction professionals.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare materials, tools and workshop facilities for practical sessions
- Provide technical support to lecturers and students
- Demonstrate safe working practices, materials and techniques
- Maintain workshop equipment and service records
- Manage stock control and assist with ordering materials
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, COSHH and risk assessments
- Support student projects and assessment activities
- Build and maintain workshop rigs, storage systems and learning resources
- Promote positive student behaviour and engagement
- Support open days, taster sessions and college events
- Undertake First Aid responsibilities following training
Skills & Experience
- Level 3 qualification in Carpentry & Joinery or completed apprenticeship
- Industry experience within carpentry and/or joinery
- Strong workshop, tooling and materials knowledge
- Good understanding of health and safety requirements
- Ability to organise workloads and prepare resources efficiently
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office
- Experience within an educational environment desirable
- First Aid qualification or willingness to obtain one
