CARPET FITTER — MOD SITES | BLANDFORD & POOLE, DORSET | SELF-EMPLOYED

Shuel Construction Ltd is an established social housing and public sector maintenance contractor. We're looking for an experienced Carpet Fitter to join us on Ministry of Defence sites in Blandford and Poole, Dorset — on a self-employed/subcontract basis.

This is not your average domestic fitting role. You'll be working inside active MOD and government buildings, which means a higher standard of professionalism, security compliance, and reliability is expected from day one.

What the work involves

• Supply and fit carpet tiles, broadloom carpet, underlay, and gripper rods across MOD/government building interiors
• Measure, cut, and install to a high standard in occupied and operational environments
• Work within site access rules and comply with MOD security requirements at all times
• Liaise professionally with site managers and our operations team

What you need — non-negotiable

• Standard DBS check — essential. Required for access to MOD and government sites; applications cannot be progressed without this
• Proven carpet fitting experience across commercial or public sector projects
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently on site
• Own transport (strongly preferred)

Desirable (not essential)

• CSCS card
• Experience working on government, MOD, or secure-access sites
