A large, successful and well-established business based near South Warrington is seeking a Cash Reconciliation Associate to join its finance team on an initial 6-month temporary contract.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong reconciliation and cash handling experience to join a busy and supportive team, with the potential for the role to become permanent.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the accurate reconciliation of daily sales, cash banking, and electronic transactions across a multi-site operation.
This position would suit a highly organised individual who enjoys investigating discrepancies, problem solving, and delivering a high level of accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
- Record and reconcile all branch cash and electronic banking transactions accurately and within agreed SLAs.
- Reconcile daily sales and spend data against banking activity, ensuring 100% cash banking reconciliation.
- Review, investigate and resolve final till results and discrepancies.
- Identify and investigate cash differences, escalating and reporting suspected fraudulent activity where appropriate.
- Analyse branch data to identify irregularities and resolve issues or escalate system-related concerns to the appropriate internal teams.
- Provide support and guidance to branch colleagues on cash handling procedures, till balancing, cash declarations and banking processes.
- Oversee and reconcile G4S cash collections and drop banking activity, resolving any associated queries.
- Maintain accurate records and supporting documentation for audit purposes.
- Assist with internal and external audits as required.
- Undertake additional duties to support the wider finance function.
- Previous experience in cash reconciliation, banking, finance administration, accounts receivable, retail finance or a similar finance role (desirable)
- Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.
- Experience investigating and resolving financial discrepancies.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Confident communicator with the ability to build relationships across the business.
- Good Microsoft Excel skills and experience using finance systems.
- Able to prioritise workload effectively and work to deadlines.
- Salary of £25,000.
